8430 LED Lighting

Brian Our 8430 was lacking in the area of light. Specifically lacking in light to the sides of the tractor. I had been looking at LED lights for a few different reasons. First being that they draw far less power then a traditional halogen or HID light while producing close to equal light output of an HID. I started with at looking at different LED makers but in the end I really liked the lights from Rigid Industries. I contacted them and told them what I was going to do and wanted to possibly sell their products if my testing came out ok.
Step one was to get the lighting kit from deere for the side mounts as well as the wire harness for the front lights. After buying the kits and installing them, (which included removal of the right window, cab lid/top and interior celling) I started installing the actual lights. I went with 4 sets of Dually D2 lights, A pair of driving/spots in the front, a pair of flood/diffused at 90° out each side and two pairs of wide/trapezoid at 45° and 135° to each side.
I was able to run two lights per circuit because of the lower AMP draw of the lights. One other benefit of using the john deere harness, I didn't need to add any sqitches and am able to control all of the lights with the tractors console.
As you can see from the pictures the increased light to each side has been greatly increased. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend these lights to anyone. I like these light so much that I am now selling them. If you are interested in buying any of Rigid Industries lights please send me an email or click the LED Lights link at the top under the Precision Ag tab.
FYI: Rigid did not ask me to do this and I paid for all of the lights that I installed on our tractor. I did provide Rigid with pictures of my project and they asked permission to use them.
